A mystery unfolded this week at the Faculty of Biotechnology at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) as students from DNA Forensics (BT312) were assigned to investigate a case involving a victim found unconscious and now in a coma with only scattered clues at the scene.

Our students took on the role of real forensic investigators, carefully collecting and correctly labeling evidence, knowing that only precise samples would be accepted for analysis. Once submitted, they received lab results and were challenged to reconstruct what happened.

Each group developed its own theory based on the evidence, leading to an energetic scientific debate where teams defended their conclusions, challenged each other, and used biotechnology to uncover the truth.

This hands-on forensic challenge brought classroom concepts to life, strengthening students’ critical thinking, analytical skills, and teamwork.

A truly thrilling learning experience where biotechnology wasn’t just taught; it was put into action to solve a mystery.
