The Football Academy at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) successfully concluded the Seven-a-Side Football Championship for the 2025/2026 academic year, held during the second semester. The tournament witnessed outstanding participation from students across the University’s faculties, bringing together 64 teams and a total of 640 students in a highly competitive environment characterized by sportsmanship, teamwork, and fair play.

The awards ceremony was attended by Dr. Maher Shehto, Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of MSA University, who honored the winning teams and outstanding players in recognition of their achievements throughout an exceptional sporting season.

In a remarkable sporting achievement, the teams of October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) delivered outstanding performances during the First Sector Championship for Universities of 6th of October City, which brought together 11 universities from across the city competing in various sports disciplines.

The championship included the participation of 11 universities which were October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University), October 6 University, Misr University for Science and Technology, Zewail City of Science, Technology and Innovation, Nile University, Badya University, Al Ahram Canadian University, Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, ESLSCA University, Higher Education National Team and New Giza University.

MSA University proudly achieved the following results:

Women’s Volleyball Team – First Place

The Women’s Volleyball Team secured the championship title following an exciting final match against Misr University for Science and Technology.

Men’s Volleyball Team – Second Place

The Men’s Volleyball Team achieved second place after a competitive final against Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, under the leadership of Coach Shady Shaarawy, Technical Director of the team.

Women’s Basketball Team – Second Place

The Women’s Basketball Team delivered an impressive performance, finishing as runners-up after a strong final match against Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport.

Men’s Basketball Team – Second Place

The Men’s Basketball Team also secured second place following a highly competitive final against Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, under the leadership of Coach Ahmed Salama, Technical Director of the team.

These achievements reflect MSA University’s continuous commitment to supporting sports activities and empowering students to excel both academically and athletically. The university extends its appreciation to the Social and Sports Department for its ongoing supervision and support under the leadership of Dr. Salah Abdel Hady.

Organized by the Sports and Social Activities Department, the tournaments brought together 90 students and graduates who competed in Basketball 3×3, Table Tennis, and Paddle Tennis over three vibrant Ramadan evenings. Participants demonstrated remarkable skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship while competing for a variety of prizes.

The event highlighted the university’s commitment to fostering student engagement, community spirit, and healthy competition.

From Office to Field: MSA Mid-Year Sports Tournament Unites Faculty and Staff

October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) successfully organized the Mid-Year Sports Tournament for faculty members and staff, featuring competitions in Padel Tennis and Table Tennis, organized by the Sports and Social Activities Department, while the Football Tournament was organized by the Football Academy across the university courts.

The event was attended by Engineer Engy Mansour, Director of the Human Resources Department, reflecting the university’s strong commitment to promoting staff engagement, well-being, and sports activities.

All competitions were conducted under the supervision of Mr. Ahmed El-Wardani and Captain Raef Mahgoub, led by Dr. Salah Abdel Hady, Director of Sports and Social Activities Department.

⚽ Additionally, the University Staff Football Tournament – “From Office to Field” involved 16 administrative departments and 4 faculties, alongside 2 women’s faculties, with a total of 196 male and 19 female participants. Winners of the top three positions were honored along with the Super Cup.

Engineering Sports Day

The Civil Engineering Department at October University for Modern Sciences and Art (MSA) organized a Sports Day that included a football championship, bringing together students from the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd academic years, along with faculty members, teaching assistants, and lecturers.

At the end of the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emad Helal, the Head of the Civil Engineering Department awarded medals to the teams that achieved 1st and 2nd place. He also presented the trophy cup to the winning team.

The event played an important role in strengthening the relationship between students and staff, enhancing teamwork, promoting a sense of belonging, and reinforcing university pride and community spirit within the department.

MSA University Football Academy Celebrates The Championships’ Closing Ceremony And Awards

For the first time in the history of October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA), the student clubs competed alongside academic teams in a united and spirited football championship, marking a milestone moment for student life, athletic engagement, and community collaboration.

This year’s competitions witnessed an exceptional level of participation and sportsmanship. A total of 96 teams, in addition to 11 student club teams, competed in the inaugural Student Clubs Football League, bringing the total number of participants to 856 students from all faculties. The tournaments concluded with outstanding performances, culminating in the Super Cup, which brought together the four champions of the internal league tournaments.

In addition to a number of department managers who participated in the organization and preparation, the Football Academy proudly honored the top-winning teams across the various football leagues held during the first semester.
