The session was delivered by Eng. Khaled Mohamed Mostafa, Former Permanent Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, as part of the academic and community engagement activities at MSA University.

The event was an opportunity that included the participation of several key MSA academic staff: the Coordinator of the Unit of Equal Opportunities and Non- Discrimination (MSA University) and Dean of the Faculty of Languages; the Dean of the Faculty of Management Sciences; the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Design; the Head of the Equal Opportunity Unit and Vice Dean of Environmental Affairs and Community Service, the Vice Dean of Student Affairs, and the Unit Board at the Faculty of Management Sciences.

The session hosted members of the academic staff from the Faculty of Management Sciences, the Faculty of Languages, and the Faculty of Mass Communication.

The purpose of the event was to provide concept orientation to a wide range of students who are enrolled in several faculty programs, which resulted in an impressively overall diverse group of attendees.

The session highlighted the vital role of equal opportunity, diversity, and inclusion in strengthening institutional performance, promoting sustainable development, and achieving organizational excellence in both public and private sectors.

In its detailed coverage, the session covered the concept of equal opportunity, highlighting its significance, the various ways it can be implemented, and its
importance for contemporary organizations. Several key topics were addressed, including:

• The Egyptian experience in implementing the concept from both private sector and government perspectives
• The relationship between diversity, inclusion, and institutional performance
• Gender equality and empowerment in the workplace
• The role of public policies in reducing discrimination
• Human capital development and sustainable organizational growth
• Leadership and ethical governance in creating inclusive work environments
• Challenges facing equal opportunity implementation in organizations
• The contribution of inclusive policies to innovation, productivity, and employee engagement
• The role of universities in promoting social awareness and institutional responsibility

The event reflected MSA University’s continuous commitment to fostering awareness, inclusion, and social empowerment through significant academic and professional dialogue.

Through the creative application of economic principles to the growing global crisis of electronic waste, the winning groups developed innovative and forward-thinking solutions. Their outstanding proposals effectively employed circular economy concepts and financial incentive mechanisms to enhance global recycling systems and extend the lifespan of consumer electronics. By integrating rigorous theoretical analysis with practical green technology policies, these emerging economists demonstrated how innovation can address pressing environmental challenges in meaningful and impactful ways.

The competition was supervised by Prof. Heba Helmy, Head of the Economics Department, and the posters were evaluated by a distinguished panel of MSA economics faculty members, including Assoc. Prof. Mai Yasser, Assoc. Prof. Esmat Kamel, Dr. Amal Soliman, and Dr. Amr Edris, alongside Prof. Heba Helmy.

Four groups participated in this semester’s competition. One group was awarded first place, another second place, while third place was shared between the remaining two groups. All winning submissions were highly creative and analytically strong, reflecting the students’ ability to think critically and apply economic reasoning to real-world problems.

We extend our sincere appreciation to our esteemed faculty members for their invaluable time and dedicated efforts in evaluating the projects. Their continuous mentorship plays a vital role in maintaining the highest academic standards.

We also express our heartfelt gratitude to all participating students. Their creativity, dedication, and fresh perspectives have once again demonstrated that the most powerful ideas often emerge from young minds. Their contributions to this competition have been truly inspiring, reaffirming that they are the future of the discipline.

The visit included a group of first, second, and third-year students from different departments within the Faculty, accompanied by Assistant Professor of Economics Dr. Amal Soliman, Associate Professor of Economics Dr. Esmat Kamel, and Assistant Lecturer Mrs. Salma Kamal.

During the visit, Ms. Dina Kamal, Financial Literacy Strategist and Policies Expert at the Financial Regulatory Authority, delivered an informative session highlighting the various banking and non-banking sectors supervised by the Authority, with a particular focus on capital markets, the insurance sector, non-bank financial activities, and fintech services.

The session featured engaging discussions supported by practical examples and real-life case studies, providing students with valuable insights into the financial sector and enhancing their understanding of future career pathways and market opportunities. Students actively participated through thoughtful and curiosity-driven questions, reflecting their strong interest and engagement throughout the visit.

The field trip concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony recognizing the students’ participation.

The Faculty extends its sincere appreciation to Dr. Islam Azzam, Head of the Financial Regulatory Authority, for providing MSA students with the opportunity to participate in such a valuable and enriching educational experience.

The course was delivered over 5 days by professionals from the Egyptian Stock Exchange, from 10 to 14 May, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, at MSA CLC.

The lectures covered the basics of investment starting from the different market tools, the primary and secondary market, the different market participants, the types of companies, the indices, the incremental saving through the stock market, financial and technical analysis, trading process starting from how to create the code, the brokerage firms and their services and how to choose them, the margin trading.

The program also introduced participants to sustainability and the voluntary carbon market, the commodities exchange, and concluded with the stockriders simulation application.

Special thanks to Mr. Ahmed Reda, Manager of MSA Continuance Learning Center – CLC., for generously hosting the program and providing an excellent learning environment, and to Dr. Asmaa Hamdy, Finance and Investment Management Programme Coordinator, for her dedicated efforts in organizing and coordinating the course.

The projects were supervised and assessed by a distinguished evaluation panel comprising Dr. Noha Fawzy, Associate Professor, Mr. Shams El Din Hosny, Product Development Lead at Beyti, and Mr. Moataz Sedky, Commercial Strategy and Marketing Technology Advisor.

The committee commended the students for their exceptional performance, analytical depth, and strong academic achievement. The Faculty extends its sincere congratulations to all participants and wishes them continued success in their academic and professional careers.

We are delighted to welcome Dr. Doaa to her new role and look forward to her leadership in the coming period.

With over 25 years of experience in higher education, including more than 20 years at MSA University, Prof. Doaa brings extensive academic leadership and expertise in international economics, quality assurance, and curriculum development. She is also a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and has published over 150 research articles in high-impact international journals.

Prof. Doaa has previously served as Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Affairs, and Deputy Director of the University Quality Assurance Unit, contributing significantly to academic excellence and institutional development.

We wish Prof. Doaa Salman Abdou continued success in leading the Faculty of Management Sciences toward further excellence and innovation.

This session provided the faculty students with the required knowledge about all non-banking financial activities, capital markets and Finance. Our third and fourth-year students from Accounting and Finance and investment Management majors attended the event and they were very delighted by the informative sessions and they are willing for more sessions that links the academic studies with the practice.

This visit comes with the protocol between the Egyptian Financial Regulatory Authority and the Supreme Council of Universities.
