{"id":50990,"date":"2026-05-06T11:45:16","date_gmt":"2026-05-06T08:45:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stage.msa.edu.eg\/?p=50990"},"modified":"2026-05-06T11:45:48","modified_gmt":"2026-05-06T08:45:48","slug":"faculty-of-physical-therapy-specialized-workshop-on-post-abdominal-surgery-rehabilitation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stage.msa.edu.eg\/ar\/faculty-of-physical-therapy-specialized-workshop-on-post-abdominal-surgery-rehabilitation\/","title":{"rendered":"Faculty of Physical Therapy &#8211; Specialized Workshop on Post-Abdominal Surgery Rehabilitation"},"content":{"rendered":"<div data-elementor-type=\"wp-post\" data-elementor-id=\"50990\" class=\"elementor elementor-50990\" wpc-filter-elementor-widget=\"1\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3b4d2aa8 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"3b4d2aa8\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9aac0e3 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"9aac0e3\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the sidelines of the First International Conference of the Faculty of Physical Therapy at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University), and under the patronage of Nawal El Degwi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Nader El Bokle, President of the University, and Olfat Diab, Dean of the Faculty and Conference President, a specialized workshop titled: \u201cFrom Incision to Function: Integrated Physiotherapy Management After Abdominal Surgery\u201d was successfully delivered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The workshop was conducted by a distinguished academic team, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Dr. Ahmed Raafat \u2013 Lecturer of Physical Therapy for Surgery and Burn Conditions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dr. Haneen Ghalwash \u2013 Assistant Lecturer of Basic Sciences<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dr. Karim Osama \u2013 Teaching Assistant of Basic Sciences<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Workshop Overview<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The workshop provided a comprehensive overview of the patient journey, from surgical intervention to full functional recovery. It addressed the fundamental pathophysiology of appendectomy, various surgical approaches, and types of incisions, with particular emphasis on common post-operative complications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Participants were introduced to the critical role of physiotherapy across different rehabilitation phases, from early intervention to complete functional restoration. Practical techniques discussed included splinting, diaphragmatic breathing exercises, and both passive and active range of motion (ROM) exercises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Advanced Therapeutic Applications<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The workshop highlighted the importance of electrophysical agents as effective adjuncts in promoting wound healing and facilitating muscle re-education. Practical applications included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ultraviolet Therapy (UV)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Therapeutic Ultrasound<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Microcurrent Therapy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>High Voltage Pulsed Stimulation (HVPS)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Phonophoresis and Iontophoresis<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, soft tissue management strategies were explored through manual therapy techniques aimed at improving tissue quality and managing hypertrophic scars.
