The Interprofessional Education (IPE) at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) proudly celebrated the conclusion of its workshop, \u201cBridging Disciplines for Autism Care: An Interprofessional Approach,\u201d held as part of our ongoing IPE initiative to foster collaboration among future healthcare professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This event brought together experts from diverse healthcare fields to provide a comprehensive, team-based perspective on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), highlighting the value of integrated care in supporting individuals with autism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We were honored to host a distinguished panel of speakers who enriched the day with their insights and expertise from the Faculties of Medicine, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy and Dentistry.
\u2022 Prof. Dr. Sawsan Abo El Foutouh, Professor of Clinical Pharmacology and Psychiatry Consultant, Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University \u2013 provided a detailed overview of autism\u2019s clinical presentation, diagnosis, and management.
\u2022 Prof. Dr. Noha Nassar, Head of the Pharmacology Department, Faculty of Pharmacy, MSA University \u2013 explored pharmacological strategies and emerging therapies.
\u2022 Dr. Amira Abdel-Daim, Lecturer of Biochemistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, MSA University \u2013 discussed the impact of gut microbiota on ASD development and potential interventions.
\u2022 Ass. Prof. Dr. Asmaa Abdel Khaleik, Associate Professor of Pediatric Physical Therapy, Cairo University \u2013 addressed the role of physiotherapy in enhancing motor skills and social participation.
\u2022 Dr. Shereen Assem, Lecturer at the conservative Department, Faculty of Dentistry, MSA University \u2013 highlighted best practices for dental care tailored to children with autism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The workshop was attended by enthusiastic students from the Faculties of Pharmacy, Dentistry, and Physical Therapy, who actively engaged in discussions and activities throughout the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The workshop wrapped up with an exciting student competition and case study presentation, demonstrating the power of interdisciplinary learning and collaborative problem-solving in action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
