Tics are involuntary, repetitive movements and sounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Some of the Fast facts that were presented included:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>TS affects around 1 in 100 children<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The cause of Tourette Syndrome is unknown but it can be genetic.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tics come &amp; go &amp; increase &amp; decrease with Intensity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tourette Syndrome is very different for every person who has it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It affects boys more often than girls &amp; usually starts between the ages of 2 and 21<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Coprolalia (the swearing tic) is very rare, only 20% of people will Tourette Syndrome actually has it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>People with TS often have other conditions like ADHD, OCD &amp; Anxiety.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There is no cure yet for TS<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Awareness, understanding, and kindness are the greatest tools we have in helping people with TS to live productive, successful, and happy lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Good luck to MSA MWHO team, and we wish you all the best!<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MSA MWHO UNICEF committee held an amazing campaign with the aim of increasing awareness about Tourette syndrome which is a neurological condition that causes something called tics.
