The faculty of Biotechnology arranged its third week of industrial projects guest speaker sessions they encompassed a series of beneficial topics in multiple fields including marine biotechnology and green chemistry. They occurred concurrently with sessions on the research process and how to read research papers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To ensure safety precautions, students were divided by schedule and sessions were evenly spaced throughout the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
120 Students attended a morning session with Dr. Ashraf Bakkar at 8:00am covering research process. Followed by a session with Prof. Shaimaa Saeed on \u2018Green Chemistry\u2019. The final session was with Dr. Rehab Abdallah on \u2019Unraveling the hidden biotechnological potential of marine microbial communities\u2019. The other group included approximately 125 students who began with Prof. Shaimaa Saeed\u2019s session followed by Dr. Rehab Abdallah\u2019s session and finally the session with Ms.Yara Ahmed on \u2018How to read research papers\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The sessions from the external speakers were new perspectives on two of the most popular topics marine biotechnology, and green chemistry, bioplastics and their applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
