{"id":19639,"date":"2022-03-31T12:58:00","date_gmt":"2022-03-31T10:58:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stage.msa.edu.eg\/?p=19639"},"modified":"2024-07-08T13:01:39","modified_gmt":"2024-07-08T10:01:39","slug":"linguistics-and-tefl-from-theory-to-practice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stage.msa.edu.eg\/ar\/linguistics-and-tefl-from-theory-to-practice\/","title":{"rendered":"Linguistics and TEFL: From Theory to Practice"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In part of the outstanding success of the Linguist Lounge initiative launched earlier this year by the Faculty of Languages, the session entitled \u201cLinguistics and TEFL: From Theory to Practice\u201d was successfully held on March 30th 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The session was delivered by David Newby, Professor of linguistics&nbsp;and&nbsp;language&nbsp;teaching didactics and research, University of Graz, Austria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the session professor Newby explained to the students the required potentials and skills that qualify English Language Students to meet the challenges of the 21st century as global citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He explored the roles played by theories and approaches based on cognitive aspects and discussed the gap between theory and practice in the field of linguistics and TEFL studies and how this gap can be reduced.
