About the Research Ethics intellectual property committee:<\/span><\/strong><\/h4><p>The Research Ethics committee (REC) of the Faculty of Pharmacy was established in November 2010.<\/p><p>The Ethics committee ensures that the Faculty is following the ethical and safety measures in research. The REC is a member in the Egyptian Network of Research ethics committees (ENREC) and it is divided into Human research Ethics committee, Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), and safe use and disposal of chemicals. The REC is registered in the Egyptian Supreme council of Research ethics #RHDIRB26072023001 and in the US Office for human research protection (OHRP) as an active valid Institutional Review Board (IRB) with an IRB # 00010491. The MSA-IACUC is a member in the Egyptian Association for Animal Research Advancement (EAARA)\u00a0 since September 2023. We aspire to protect the dignity of people, the welfare of animals, and the safety of our environment, while also honouring and safeguarding the intellectual contributions of all members of the Faculty of Pharmacy. Mission:<\/span><\/strong><\/h4><div id=\"su_box_67063001021c9\" class=\"su-box su-box-style-soft\"><div class=\"su-box-content su-clearfix\"><p>The mission of the Research Ethics Committee (REC) in the Faculty of Pharmacy is to foster a culture of integrity, responsibility, and respect across all academic, research, and professional activities within the Faculty of Pharmacy. The Committee is dedicated to safeguarding the dignity, rights, and safety of human participants in research; ensuring the humane and ethical treatment of animals; and promoting safe practices through rigorous evaluation of chemical risks and laboratory environments. In parallel, the Committee upholds the protection and fair management of intellectual property in its broadest sense \u2014 including research findings, educational materials, publications, creative works, and innovations \u2014 to ensure proper recognition, legal safeguarding, and responsible utilization for the benefit of individuals, the faculty, and society. By providing independent, transparent, and comprehensive oversight, the Committee advances ethical conduct, academic honesty, safe practices, and the equitable dissemination of knowledge and innovation<\/p><p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>The committee is dedicated to:<\/strong><\/span><\/p><ol><li><strong>Ethical Oversight:<\/strong> Reviewing, evaluating, and approving research protocols of undergraduate graduation projects and postgraduate research to ensure compliance with national and international ethical standards and guidelines (e.g., Declaration of Helsinki, CIOMS, and Good Clinical Practice).<\/li><li><strong>Capacity Building:<\/strong> Enhancing awareness among students, faculty, and researchers regarding ethical considerations in research design, conduct, and dissemination.<\/li><li><strong>Protection of Participants:<\/strong> Ensuring that potential risks to research participants are minimized, and that informed consent, confidentiality, and safety are adequately maintained.<\/li><li><strong>Supporting Institutional Standards:<\/strong> Aligning with the faculty\u2019s mission to advance pharmaceutical sciences through ethically sound research that contributes to public health and societal well-being.<\/li><\/ol><ol start=\"5\"><li><strong>Animal Welfare:<\/strong> Overseeing research involving animals to ensure adherence to the 3Rs principle (Replacement, Reduction, Refinement) and international standards for humane care and ethical use of animals in scientific studies.<\/li><li><strong>Chemical Risk and Safety Oversight:<\/strong> Reviewing and monitoring research protocols involving chemical use to ensure risk assessments are conducted, safe handling practices are followed, and environmental impact is minimized.<\/li><li><strong>Intellectual Property and Academic Integrity:<\/strong> Safeguarding intellectual property rights across research, education, and innovation;
