Globalization has made international accounting and audit standards highly important and consequently emphasized the need for a strong accounting education that builds a strong academic base for those seeking to pursue a career in accounting.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>The accounting course aspires to graduate qualified accountants ready to help corporations, governments and individuals to make reasonable financial\/managerial decisions. The course wishes not only to teach students how to apply accounting rules, regulations and techniques in a responsible way but also to be able to question and to contribute to the discipline.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>The course develops in students the independent critical thinking and moral reasoning to be able to deal with contemporary issues facing the accounting discipline in the 21st century. The course develops key graduate skills such as; team work, critical thinking, technology, literacy, research skills, communication and collaboration, initiative and self-direction by embedding these employability skills within its units as well as through work experience.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Also students are engaged in extracurricular activities such as tax, and audit competition organized by the faculty in collaboration with the big four accounting firms: PricewaterhouseCoopers, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, Ernst &amp; Young, and KPMG. The student in their last year of studies, as part of the exit velocity, present graduation projects which usually include empirical researches on various industries and organizations of Egypt to provide students with transferable skills required to make diagnostic studies, defining research problem, setting the objectives and carrying out field work of data collection and analysing the results using the appropriate techniques in order to provide solid recommendations for problems facing the local industries and organizations.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>The students learn the importance of performing their duties according to ethical values such as accountability, integrity and reliability. The students of the accounting course should pursue to gain required knowledge and skills to work in areas such as taxation, cost, auditing, and accounting systems.
