IPE in Action: Together for Better Diabetic Care

MSA University is pleased to announce an interdisciplinary educational workshop titled “IPE in Action: Together for Better Diabetic Care”, bringing together students from the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Faculty of Physical Therapy at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) to promote collaborative healthcare practices and enhance patient-centered diabetic care.

Conducted by IPE students under the supervision of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Faculty of Physiotherapy, the workshop aims to highlight the importance of Interprofessional Education (IPE) and strengthen students’ understanding of teamwork in managing diabetes through both theoretical learning and interactive clinical practice.

In conjunction with Down Syndrome Awareness Month, the Department of Pediatrics at the Faculty of Physical Therapy at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts is organizing an awareness campaign entitled: “An Extra Chromosome, An Extra Spark”, aiming to promote awareness, foster inclusion, and strengthen community support for individuals with Down Syndrome, while highlighting the importance of understanding, acceptance, and empowerment within society.

The campaign seeks to educate university students about Trisomy 21, highlight the physical and developmental aspects addressed through physical therapy, and emphasize the abilities, talents, and potential of individuals with Down Syndrome.

Through this initiative, we strive to encourage empathy and compassion, break down common misconceptions, and foster a more inclusive and supportive campus environment. This event also reflects a strong commitment to sustainability and global responsibility, inspiring future healthcare professionals to adopt inclusive practices and advocate for equal opportunities and high-quality care for all, in line with global values.

In continuation of the educational process and commitment to clinical excellence, continuing of series of workshops, the Orthopedic Department at the Faculty of Physical Therapy at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) is pleased to announce a hands-on clinical workshop tailored for level 4-5 physical therapy students focusing on effective taping methods for musculoskeletal and sports injuries titled Taping in Action: Introduction to Taping in Sports Injuries”, under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Olfat Diab.

The workshop will be presented by Dr. Ahmed Yahya Tageldin, Senior Physiotherapist at Modern Sport F.C, a licensed physiotherapist in the United Kingdom (H.C.P.C Registered), member of FIFA Africa Zone V Medical Committee, AIMS Academy Tutor, former Lead Physiotherapist of the Egyptian Basketball National Team, and former Senior Physiotherapist in Sports Medicine at Cleopatra October Hospital (Haven).

This interactive workshop is designed to provide participants with valuable practical experience in applying taping techniques for sports injuries, enhancing both clinical competence and confidence in real-life settings. Attendees will gain hands-on skills that can be immediately integrated into clinical and sports environments, improving injury prevention, support, and rehabilitation outcomes. In light of the activation of agreement protocols, and as part of our ongoing dedication to advancing education and maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence, the Orthopedics Department at the Faculty of Physical Therapy, October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA), in collaboration with ARC for Scoliosis Physical Therapy Clinics and under the esteemed supervision of Dean Prof. Olfat Diab, is delighted to announce a second series of a specialized workshop entitled “Management of Scoliosis: A 3D Approach.” The workshop will be delivered by Dr. Mahmoud Ibrahim, PT, Ph.D., Lecturer at the German International University, Certified Schroth Best Practice Instructor, and CEO of ARC for Scoliosis Physical Therapy Clinics.

This comprehensive workshop is tailored specifically for Level 4 and Level 5 physical therapy students, offering a valuable opportunity to gain insight into the latest evidence-based strategies for scoliosis management through the 3D Schroth Best Practice approach. Bridges of Empowerment – Together Beyond Disability

The Faculty of Physical Therapy at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA), in collaboration with Al-Bahrain’s “Toast Master El Azzam Club” and the Palestinian Sports Federations and Universities, is pleased to announce the second edition of the international hybrid event held as part of MSA University’s Disability Awareness Week.

This tri-national initiative, “تعاون عربي”, is organized in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals—SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities. The event aims to promote awareness of the importance of physical activity, inclusion, and the empowerment of individuals with disabilities, irrespective of disability type.

Additionally, this event brings together students, faculty, and para-athletes from Egypt, Bahrain, and Palestine, to celebrate diversity, inclusion, and the transformative power of physical activity in improving quality of life.

Objectives of the event:
1. Raise awareness about the importance of inclusive physical activity for people with disabilities.
2. Promote collaboration between Arab Countries for sustainable disability inclusion initiatives.
