The Architecture department at the Faculty of Engineering at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA), in collaboration with Urban Governance and Design thrust–Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou), is pleased to host a one-day international symposium entitled “Human-Centred Urban Intelligence: AI, Spatial Intelligence, and Future Cities” bringing together leading researchers from the Urban Governance and Design (UGOD) Thrust at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou).

This event marks a significant step in establishing a formal academic partnership between two institutions committed to advancing sustainable, people-centered urban futures. The symposium explores the intersections of artificial intelligence, spatial intelligence, digital twin technologies, and human-centered urban design. It brings together researchers whose work spans GeoAI, urban informatics, 3D city modeling, immersive environments, urban health, and social governance — all converging around a shared question: how can emerging technologies serve cities and their people more equitably and intelligently.

Beyond knowledge exchange, the symposium serves as a launchpad for concrete collaboration. MSA University’s President has warmly welcomed the HKUST(GZ) delegation, and both institutions are prepared to formalize their partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding.

Proposed areas of collaboration include joint research projects, student exchange programs, co-supervised theses, and shared workshops in architecture, urban design, and AI-driven spatial analysis.

This gathering reflects a shared belief that the future of cities must be designed with — not just for — their inhabitants, and that the collaboration between Egyptian and Chinese academic institutions can generate research of global relevance.

The Faculty of Arts and Design at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) is pleased to invite you to the furniture design projects 2026 event which reflects an innovative approach to fostering creativity and critical thinking in furniture design education. It integrates AI tools with narrative literature from renowned international novels-rich in cultural, historical, and philosophical themes-to inspire design. Simultaneously, AI facilitates idea generation, rapid prototyping, and problem-solving.

This methodology combines qualitative literary analysis with AI-powered design techniques, promoting innovation in culturally sensitive and emotionally resonant furniture design education.

AI-enhanced methodologies can bridge technical skill gaps while deepening conceptual engagement by evoking emotions and extracting value from cultural narratives in design education.

The Economics Department at the Faculty of Management Sciences, October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA), is excited to host ‘The Best First-Year Economist Poster Competition’. This semi-annual competition is about presenting a poster based on a theme stated by the organizing committee each semester on an economic problem. The contestants should propose a solution (or solutions) for it. The problem and the solution(s) should be included in the poster in a creative and catchy manner.

The poster competition is open only to students in their first year and enrolled in either the Introduction to Macroeconomics (ECO101) or the Introduction to Microeconomics (ECO102) courses, but not to those studying higher-level economics courses. The competition is also open to students from other Egyptian universities at the same level and enrolled in similar courses.

Selected posters will be presented in the last week of classes on ONE PowerPoint slide. A jury formed of prominent economists will evaluate the posters. Based on their evaluations, three certificates will be awarded to the first, second, and third winners.

Spring 2026 Semester Theme

The theme of the competition this semester is:

E-waste or electronic waste: According to the World Health Organization (WHO), every year, millions of electronic and electrical devices, such as computers or mobile phones, are discarded as product breaks or thrown away as they become old. These discarded devices are considered e-waste (or electronic waste). Although they contain valuable materials such as gold, copper, and rare earth metals, they become dangerous to health and the environment since they are improperly recycled. Recycling using unsound activities can release up to 1000 different toxic materials into the environment, contaminating our food and harming our health. How can we save our environment from e-waste?
